Build on the Rock

Needed:

A rock for each person
A paint marker that will write on the rocks

Sing:
The Wise Man and The Foolish Man

Ask:
Where did the two men build their homes? Which one worked?

Discuss:
The song is actually a parable that Jesus told. He wasn't really talking about houses and rocks. What do you think He was talking about?

Answer: The house is your life and where you build your life is important.

Ask: What is the rock you should build your life on?

Helaman 5:12

Ask:
What does the scripture tell you the rock is?

Answer: It is Christ.

Discuss: What could we do better to build our lives on Christ?

Hand out the rocks and let each child write "Christ" on them as a reminder of who we should be building our lives on.
