2 Nephi 33:1-2
Objects Needed:
Foam Tray (like the one that are used for meat) or piece of non-corrugated Cardboard
A Cookie sheet full of water
Liquid Dish soap
A small Paintbrush
A heart cut out of red paper
Cut a boat shape out of the foam tray
Put the cookie sheet long side going down the table and the red heart at the far end of the sheet.
The boat represents the word of the Lord.
Ask: How can you get the word of the Lord into the hearts of the people listening?
Drop the boat in the water and see how it floats, but doesn't go across the cookie sheet towards the heart.
Read: 2 Nephi 33:1
Answer: The power of the Holy Ghost will carry the word into hearts of the children of men.
The liquid soap represents the Holy Ghost.
Spread some soap on the sides of the notch in the back of the boat.
Put the boat into the water and watch it speed across the water, right into the heart.
Ask: What is the only way the Holy Ghost won't carry the word into the hearts of people?
Read: 2 Nephi 33:2
Answer: If the people hard their hearts then the Holy Ghost cannot find a place.
